Has left me with a lifetime of fond memories of Mexico City.

The location, view of the plaza and accessibility to subway, tours. Various options to shop and eat around this hotel is an added bonus.

Wifi was very weak. House keeping can be improved.

Friendly and helpful staff running a beautiful historic colonial style hotel.

Great location in the heart of the historic Centre, rooms overlooking the Zocalo (noisy) and an excellent rooftop restaurant.

Very Good

The history and architecture of the building, the size of the room we had was bigger than your average hotel room, with your own balcony. It was in the heart of the city close to all the main attractions.The porter Javier was very helpful and provided excellent information on the building and the city.

Not all staff spoke English, we tried to speak as much Spanish as we could. The front desk were not so friendly, we would say hello and got no reply back. There can be a lot of noise from the main square adjacent to the hotel, due to protests, street vendor's and tourists. If you are a light sleeper bring ear plugs.

Hotel a bit tired but great location

Location is perfect - view of the zocalo was unparalleled

Mattress old, cockroaches in room, everything a bit tired: furniture, curtains. The doona cover didn’t cover the doona. We requested view of zocalo and had to pay more : customer service was abrupt. The shower had little pressure.

Beautiful colonial hotel with amazing location

The location was incredible! I could see the cathedral from my window-- couldn't be beat. The building is a beautiful, older colonial style building that is well maintained and very clean. The terrace restaurant on the roof was terrific. Bathrooms are fairly modern and beds were very comfortable. The staff were professional and helpful. I speak Spanish quite well, so I don't know their level of English, if that's an issue for someone.

There is a lot of street noise from the zocalo and pedestrian area directly outside the hotel, which is to be expected. I didn't mind it and I considered it a small price to pay for the amazing location. But people who are sensitive to street noise at night might have a problem with it, especially if you have a room facing the pedestrian street (as I did) and not an interior room. There is one small elevator which is older (very quaint) and has to be run by an elevator operator. However it can take time to have to call for the elevator, wait for the operator to come up, etc, especially if more than 3-4 people want to take the elevator, as that will lead to multiple trips. I found myself taking the stairs 3-4 flights rather than bothering to wait for the elevator (not a problem for me, but could be an issue for some).

Great view in the middle of the historic center

The location is excellent, it is very centric; one has access to many restaurants, grocery stores, pharmacies and etc. very easily walking. In addition, it is located right in front of the Zócalo and you can see the cathedral from the windows. The service of the staff is very good, the room is very spacious, comfortable and clean.

WiFi is very unstable, there is no A/C or refrigerator, and it is expensive. I would definitely recommend it if you want to be right in the center of the city and be able to visit various strategic points on foot.

Amazing views from rooftop bar, central , historic building in centre.

A beautiful old historic building with tiles, lift from the 30s and absolutely fantastic views of the main square and cathedral from the rooftop restaurant and bar.. Great service from staff. Room modern and clean with hot water on demand. Located right in the centre.

There was nothing to dislike. Perfect for a night or two exploring the historic centre, before moving to relaxed vibrant area like Roma.
